It is certainly possible to appreciate the value of high fashion while still having fun with it.
Such was the case at designer Vania Romoff’s presentation of her Fall/Winter 2017 line, the first of Ayala Land Premier’s #TheEditionLive events, held on July 8 at the Park Central Show Flat in Makati. The collection is a comeback of sorts of Romoff after a year-long hiatus, and if it isn’t worth the wait, you’d be hard-pressed to pinpoint what is.
Perhaps looser than most fashion shows—the designer did away with a no-touching policy and personally invited guests to review her work up close—the presentation found models walking the showroom floor before posing on platforms. The dresses were marvels for the crowd, drawings exclamations of awe and delighted claps thank to their unique cuts, dainty silhouettes, and appealing color palettes, all signature Romoff details.
In keeping with The Edition’s affinity for all things luxe and elegant, guests were treated to free flowing drinks and a selection of hors d’oeuvres. Between the initial presentation and an encore, they were given free rein of the showroom’s premises, during which they were given a taste of the top-tier accommodations offered by the Park Central Towers, a new Ayala Land Premier development. The event also saw the launch of The Edition magazine in print.
In attendance at the event was actress Janine Gutierrez, who graces the cover of The Edition in a Vania Romoff dress. Also spotted were influencers Tricia Gosingtian and Martine Cajucom, both wearing Vania Romoff, as well as model Kelsey Merritt, photographer BJ Pascual, singer Christian Bautista, designer Amina Aranaz, and style icon Teresa Herrera Anthony.
