The Philippines is home to thousands of awe-inspiring islands, but Palawan–with its captivating limestone cliffs and crystal-clear waters–has always served as its most beloved envoy.

Now, Ayala Land has developed its first master-planned sustainable estate: Lio Beach. Boasting a four-kilometer beachfront and a growing integrated resort community, the development is home to Lio Estate Resorts, a collection of the boutique resorts Casa Kalaw, El Nido Cove, Balai Adlao and Hotel Covo–each one carefully crafted for every sort of traveller.

Casa Kalaw, the estate’s first hotel accommodation, opened its doors to guests last December. Dedicated to worry-free comfort, it offers 42 rooms inspired by Filipino architectural design catering to families and guests of all ages. Its equipped with a swimming poo, a recreational activity area, and areas for gatherings including an al fresco deck, an indoor restaurant, and an open-air bar. Balai Adlao, on the other hand, is a place for peaceful island retreat. Opened to the public just this September, its 20 well-appointed rooms allow for a restful holiday accommodation for young professionals and couples. Apart from the stunning beaches, guests are also invited to enjoy local and international flavors at the café, where daily breakfast is served. Meanwhile, Hotel Covo was specifically designed for the youthful and carefree travellers. A 20-room space that’s set to open this October, its envisioned as a place where adventures and memorable experiences begin, guided by values of openness, friendliness and warmth.

Of course, El Nido Cove is also located just 10-minutes from Lio. For couples or groups that prefer a more relaxed and scenic resort, El Nido Cove is known for its exclusivity, offering its own garden and beachfront area.

In each of the Lio Estate Resorts, guests are welcome to pair the wonderful scenery of Palawan with a number of low-impact activities, from paddle boarding at the beach front or bamboo rafting in the nearby lagoon.

As no vacation is complete without a good meal, the commercial area, Shops @ Lio, is just a stone’s throw away. Here guest can dine on international cuisines from Globy Travelling Chef Restaurant, or enjoy Filipino classics from Pukka Beach Bar and Resto. Better yet, make the most of the nearby sea with fresh seafood and grilled dishes served at El Nido Grille, or sunset cocktails and comfort food at Pair-A-Dice Burger Bar, Pizza Amore, and Manille Beach Bar. During the day, drop by Bead Café for a quick coffee fix or L’Asiette for homemade gelato.
